Kartini day on R H Campus
Kartini Day takes place each year on April 21, the birthdate of Raden Adjeng Kartini (fondly referred
to as Ibu Kartini.
On this day, Indonesians commemorate the life of Kartini and celebrate the strides she made
toward the emancipation of women in our country.
This year, primary students celebrated Kartini day by wearing Batik or traditional costumes. Due to
the pandemic we celebrated Kartini day with friends and teachers virtually. As part of the
celebration, our Bahasa Indonesia teacher, Ms. Jati explained to the students a little about the life of Kartini and why she became an inspirational
woman. To add to the enthusiasm of the students, Ms. Jati got the students to take part in a quiz about Kartini.
We also conducted a competition such as: making a Kartini poster, singing national and traditional songs, a poetry recital and speech about the
emancipation of women.
