...what they said
I was lucky to be a part of two business competitions with this team. At rst, I wasn’t too interested
in the business side of the competition. I was more interested in the media side where I had to make
videos for my group. But throughout the competition, I nd it interesting seeing my team plan out
business ideas. I participated in group discussions and gave some of my small ideas to the group.
I consider myself an introvert, and being able to con dently share my thoughts and insights with my
team is something I’m proud of. With these competitions, I was able to express my creativity and
editing skills as I was given the chance to produce a 10 minute business development video and a
shorter 1 minute investor pitch video, where I had a goal to make the videos as interesting as
possible to attract the judges and investors. These projects forced me to learn new techniques such
as creating a storyboard, animating, as well as organizing my workload. The feedback from
Mr Edward and my team has also helped me improve my work.
Even though our team did not win any of the competitions I was in, I did not regret joining. I’ve been
able to gain new experiences and develop new skills for later use when I’m at university. I encourage
everyone to give it a try. It’s worth it.
